About Us

YCG Pathways Limited and its sister companies are part of Your Consultation Group. We have been assisting those in custody with their sentence planning and reintegration since 2015. Our work supports prisoners, helping them to successfully rehabilitate into their communities.

Our Purpose

YCG Pathways Programme™ brings together participating prison establishments and sponsoring employers to train and support YCG Citizens™ prior to their release from prison. We support prisoners in engaging with their sentence planning to ensure they have the greatest chance of successfully reintegrating into society on release from custody. This is achieved by identifying talent within prisons and linking it to the recruitment needs of employers.

Team

We are a collaboration of professionals, educationalists and IT specialists, working to change the model for the reintegration of prison leavers in order to benefit everyone in society.

Experience

We have been working with our justice partners since 2015. Our initial work emerged from a Prison Led Initiative at HMP Oakwood, supporting prisoners with their sentence planning and progression.

Prisoner Engagement

Your Consultation Group (YCG) is a peer led service in HMP Oakwood which aims to provide prisoners with information about prison rules and prison service instructions relevant to difficulties they may be having in prison. Prisoners can access the service using YCG application forms which are available on the wings, and by speaking to the reps who regularly tour the wings to promote the service.

The success of the service is in no small way due to the support it has received from wing staff right up to senior management. YCG reps report having been given responsibility and trust right from the beginning.
